
The algorithm originates from a study of the Road Surfaces Catalogue compiled by the CNR (National Research Council): it knows and proposes the entire range of infrastructural works, starting from the typical traffic and environmental conditions of each area.

Based on the data collected from the scan and the characteristics of the pavement, the integrated platform assigns the most appropriate maintenance intervention to the analysed section of road. It therefore divides the entire surveyed infrastructure network into “minimum sections of intervention”.
Each section surveyed will have its own “state of health” summary, an estimate of the level of degradation that takes account of functional parameters and surface deterioration present on the road pavement: longitudinal and transverse cracks, crocodile cracking, block cracking, potholes, etc
Through the evaluation of the characteristic parameters of the pavement, appropriate maintenance activities are assigned to each section.
By logging in, it is possible to select the sections of interest and get an estimate of the cost of the necessary maintenance work.
The systematic, scientific and objective monitoring of roads makes it possible to predict how they will degrade and therefore to plan a detailed schedule of maintenance work on specific stretches.
The data, especially that related to the cost estimate ranges, is an important source of additional information that can be used to support requests for funding and the planning of the entire public works sector.
